Greenbuild Expo 2010

Conference
Highlights of the extensive conference programme included sessions on green refurb, with incredibly high interest in the seminars on domestic retrofit and energy saving for commercial buildings. With over 100 sessions to choose from on everything from the Code for Sustainable Homes and renewable energy to healthcare refurb and post-occupancy monitoring, there was plenty of choice for all sectors of the built environment.

Visitors
The audience for Greenbuild Expo 2010 was a mix of the public and private sector, with local authorities, housing associations, architects, contractors, planners, engineers and consultants all represented at the event. A massive 95% stated that Greenbuild Expo 2010 met their needs, whether that was solutions for current projects, research for future projects, information sourcing at seminars or networking with like-minded professionals. Visitor feedback in has been excellent with many requests for more information on the topics covered at the show.

Here ’s a selection of the visitor comments we have received:

“Even better than last year.”
“Fantastic, educational day.”
“I was happy with the day and found all the information I was looking for.”
“A good spread across a range of topic areas.”
“I came away with some very useful, hopefully profitable, information.”
“I found the workshop sessions I attended, on solar PV, rainwater harvesting and voltage power optimisation extremely informative and helpful.”

Exhibitors
Exhibitor feedback has also been very positive, here’s just a small selection of the comments we have received:

"Greenbuild Expo was a great opportunity for Gentoo to meet like-minded people from a range of businesses and to begin, what could become, very rewarding relationships. Over the two days we engaged in varied and interesting conversations, enabling us to see how the housing sector and wider sustainable business community is responding to the variety of issues we face today and in the future."
Dylan Hawick, Gentoo Green

“The exhibition was a great success for Baxi group generating a significant interest in our Baxi Ecogen mCHP unit and our Bioflo biomass boiler. The event's ability to deliver the right level of visitor was helped by the varied and comprehensive range of seminars available along side the exhibition. Our seminar on mCHP attracted great interest - the subject matter is certainly one which attracts a positive response and a great many questions. We are pleased to be associated with Greenbuild 2010 and the interest it generates in the green technology.”
Simon Osborne, Baxi Group

“Greenbuild Expo was a great success for us and we ended up with a busy stand for the complete two days and lots of good quality leads from the show. We had a stand at other events in this sector and the quality and quantity of leads we gained from Greenbuild Expo were far superior. It seemed there were people there with real questions and not just having a general look round.”
Simon Astill, Envirohomes

“We were very pleased with the quality of the visitors and took positive leads from the start. Also being in Manchester I think the exhibition drew a different audience and gave us the chance to speak with visitors who normally wouldn’t attend a southern-based event. We look forward to the event growing in future years.”
Alan Calverley, Epwin Group

“So far this year we have been to several sustainability events and there is no doubt in my mind that Greenbuild Expo provided the best quality contacts that we have had from all of the other exhibitions.
There is always going to be differing reason for taking part in different shows, but for a company like ours, the priority is to meet key decision makers from all of the aspects of commerce and the property and construction industry. We certainly had a good mix of all at Greenbuild Expo, from architects and surveyors to housing association managers plus a large number of local authority and public service decision makers. “

Mike Howard, Green Energy

“In the past 12 months we have exhibited at 14 events and Greenbuild Expo has, without doubt, provided us with the best quality leads of all. Well organized, with a clear focus on the targeted markets. A credit to all involved in the management of an excellent exhibition.”
Tony Millar, Resike
